Learning and expanding my horizons has always been a part of my life. Healthcare is such a rapidly changing field that continuing education is a must … and that’s just fine with me!

As a new RN, I enjoyed the variety of learning and working opportunities at Medical Center of South Arkansas. From Obstetrics & Gynecology, to Pediatrics, to Psychiatry and Geriatrics, to Medical Nursing and House Supervision, I wanted to help with all the medical needs and cover all the bases during the 20 years of nursing. As I continued with my nursing education, I realized my skills, knowledge, and compassion for patients would be well placed as a Nurse Practitioner and further as an Advanced Practice Nurse with medication prescribing authority. A perpetual student, my recent Certified Diabetic Educator program completion has been especially helpful to diabetic patients throughout the community.

SAMA continues to be the ideal place to put it all together for me and my patients since early 2000. I love it.

Another passion of mine is cycling (I’m talking REAL distance cycling!). Snow skiing, reading, and traveling come in a very close 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place. I can’t forget my two puppies!
